In the first 45 minutes of their South Coast Conference men's soccer game, the tandem of Kevin Diaz (Connections Academy HS) and Bryan Ortega (Paramount HS) combined to score four goals and assist on another. The offensive production of the two would be all the offense the Falcons would need, as they defeated host Rio Hondo College, 4-0 under the lights. The #4-ranked team in the nation by United Soccer Coaches among Division III (non-scholarship) schools, Cerritos extended their unbeaten streak to 39 games in a row (35-0-4). They will play their biggest game of the season on Friday at 4:00 p.m. when they host rival, and #1-ranked Mt. San Antonio in another conference game.

The last five games have either been 1-0 or 1-1 results, while the Falcons have gone 4-8-2 since 2012, but posted 1-0 wins in their last two meetings.

In the win over the Roadrunners (5-6-4, 1-1-2), Cerritos scored all four of their goals in the first 38 minutes. After Diaz opened the scoring in the ninth minute, Ortega recorded his 12th and 13th goals of the season just five minutes apart. Diaz, who assisted on the second goal, closed out the scoring in the 38th minute with his 11th tally of the year.

Freshman goalkeeper Luis Encisco (Gahr HS) registered three saves on the night to earn his second complete game shutout of the season and has been part of five shutouts during the season.
