Compton, Calif. – Freshman Frank Murry was the leading scorer for the Tartars in Wednesday night's game against LA Southwest posting up 26 points, but the Tartars fell 79-75. Murray also put up eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Freshman Keondre Brown led the team in rebounds posting up 14 total. Double-digit scorers for the night also included freshmen Dwayne Moore and DeAnte Wilkins who put up 24 and 11 points respectively.
During half time three student-athletes, Graciela Gomez, Gerardo Ibanez, and Marceya Vernardo, received Scholar Athlete Awards for their academic achievements during the Fall 2019 semester. The athletes not only dedicated their time to their respected sport but also passed at least 12 units and maintained a 3.0 or higher GPA for the fall semester.
The Tartars will play in their final home game for the 2019-2020 regular season on Friday February 14 against the Long Beach City Vikings with a 7 p.m. start time.
