Beach Volleyball Splits on the Day

The Riverside City College beach volleyball squad continued action on Friday morning by facing off against Orange Empire Conference (OEC) foe Orange Coast College and non-conference competitor Glendale College. The Tigers dominated Glendale by sweeping the field, but dropped their conference contest to the Pirates, 1-4.

Sophomore Natalie Escher and freshman Vashti Elias-Romero were deemed the top team for the seventh and eighth consecutive matches and performed at a high level. They reeled in two victories in two sets. Their most dominant win came against Glendale by the final score of 21-13, 21-5. They continued on to defeat Orange Coast's top team by the final count of 21-18, 21-14.

Freshman duo Sadie Arganda and Kayla Mckinnon handled the number two position and won against Glendale by the final score of 21-10, 21-10. Freshman Jasmin Urban and sophomore Patricia Brucks mirrored Arganda and Mckinnon's outcome at the third position by the final scores of 21-10, 21-10.

Sophomore Telanni Childs and freshman Robyn Collier earned a victory as the fourth pair by the final score of 21-6, 21-8.

Riverside (3-5, 1-1 OEC) will continue conference action on Friday, March 15 as they host the Cypress College Chargers at the Evans Sports Complex in San Bernardino, CA at 10 a.m.
