Saddleback "diggin" another win

The Saddleback women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 victory against Santiago Canyon College on Friday night inside the Saddleback Gymnasium.  The Bobcats evened their record in conference play with the win.

Saddleback proved to have too much depth for a Santiago Canyon squad that came into the matchup with just one win on the season.  The Bobcats rotated in 13 players in breezing past the Hawks 25-12, 25-11, 25-14.

Saddleback was tremendous in the defensive end all night, finishing with 54 digs in the three sets played.  The 54 digs with the highest number of the season for a three-set match.

Sydney Brown led the team with 12 kills in 22 attempts for the night.  She was also fourth on the team with six digs while finishing with one service ace.  Brown leads the team with 148 kills for the year and is currently ninth in the state in kills-per-set.

Logan Daniels also had a big night for the Bobcats, leading the team in both assists (27) and digs (11).  Daniels is currently 12th in the state in assists-per-set, averaging 8.42 for the season.

Jolie Robinson had an all-around solid night, finishing with nine kills and nine digs with two block assists.

Saddleback is now 9-2 overall and 2-2 in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) play.  The Bobcats are currently tied for fourth place in the OEC.

Saddleback will be back in action this Wednesday when they travel to Irvine Valley College to take on the Lasers.  Match time is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
