(Norwalk, CA) Cerritos (13-3, 5-1) dealt visiting Mt. SAC (10-13, 5-1) its first South Coast Conference defeat of the season on Wednesday by the score of 12-5.

The Falcons exploded for five goals in the third, breaking open a 6-3 halftime lead and turning it into a comfortable 11-4 advantage through three quarters.

Xen Allen scored three goals to lead the Mounties while making three steals and assisting on a goal by Katelynn Howell. Jahanna Palmer also had three steals as Alexis Ramirez, Julia Bensing-Ruiz, and Howell had two each.

Kelly Jackson (two quarters, five saves) and Howell (two quarters, four saves) split time in goal for Mt. SAC.

The Mounties will compete in the Battle of the Beach Tournament beginning Friday, Oct. 22.
