The Lady Tiger softball team won four out of five games last week. But the most important win came on Feb. 27, a 2-1 victory over Fresno City College in the Central Valley Conference opener.
Amanda Beltran preserved the win over FCC by striking out a Ram with the bases loaded. Sam Lizaola drove in both Reedley runs with a fourth-inning double.
Reedley improved to 8-11 as they concluded a seven-game with non-conference doubleheaders with Gavilan and Cabrillo Colleges. On Feb. 25, the Tigers split a pair with the Rams, winning the first game 3-1 before dropping the nightcap 6-1. On Saturday, Reedley swept a twinbill with Cabrillo by scores of 6-2 and 11-3.
The Tigers travel to Coalinga to face West Hills for a 1 pm doubleheader on March 3 before hosting the College of the Sequoias on Thursday, March 5 at 2 pm. Taft comes to Reedley for a 1 pm doubleheader on Tuesday, March 10.
