SAC Women’s Soccer Falls to No. 3 SCC in PKs to End the Season

ORANGE, Calif. – For the second straight match, the Santa Ana women's soccer team was forced to go on the road and play 120 minutes against a quality team as the 19th seeded Dons (11-8-3) faced the No. 3 seed in Santiago Canyon (14-3-3) on Saturday afternoon in round one of the CCCAA SoCal Regionals.

Time expired after 90 minutes of action, sending the two teams to overtime where neither could pull ahead in the extra 30 minutes.

The match then went to penalty kicks where anything could happen. Unfortunately, the Dons couldn't knock off SCC for another upset, failing to make more shots than the Hawks and ending their season in the first round.

Santa Ana finished the season with an 11-8-3 record and its first playoff appearance since 2009.
