Softball errors prove costly

Five Folsom Lake errors proved to be fatal on Tuesday afternoon as American River capitalized on those mistakes to send the visiting Falcons home with a 5-2 loss.  Freshman Anjelica Blackmer did her part, allowing just one earned run in her almost six innings and also driving in the Falcons' only runs with a 2-run single in the 4th inning.  But the Falcon infield let her down with five errors, and the resulting loss was just the second of the year.  "Hopefully we learned from this game," noted head coach Amber Grahlman.  "We've got to show up with our 'A' game, or else…."

The Falcons (15-2 overall, 2-1 in Big 8) will host Cosumnes River (11-6, 2-1) for an afternoon doubleheader on Friday.
