Ticket Punched: Top-Seeded Roadrunners Advance to Elite Eight

Oroville, Calif. - Sophomores Meghan Weinrich and Sanaya Shrader combined for 44 points to lead the top-seeded Butte women's basketball team to a 74-63 win over No. 8 Folsom Lake on Saturday evening.

Shrader scored a game-high 23 points with six rebounds and three steals, while Weinrich posted 21 points, 11 boards, four steals, and a pair of blocked shots. Freshman Jordan Arreola chipped in eight points. 

The team overcame a four-point halftime deficit, outscoring the Falcons 19-3 coming out of the break behind Shrader and Weinrich's seven points apiece. Overall, Butte scored 16 points off of Folsom Lake turnovers to FLC's four, and outscored the Falcons 36-26 in the paint. 

Butte (26-3) will take the top seed from the north to West Hills Lemoore. The Roadrunners first game will be on Friday, Mar. 10. Game time will be announced soon.
