Santa Rosa proves "champion worthy"

The Falcons closed out their 2019 Big 8 schedule with a 3-1 loss to Big 8 champion Santa Rosa on Friday afternoon in Santa Rosa.  The two teams were tied at halftime, 1-1, after Tanner Boyea knotted the score with his fifth goal of the season in the 15th minute.  That would be all the scoring for the Falcons, though, as Santa Rosa took the lead for good in the 78th minute and added an insurance goal five minutes later.

The Bear Cubs (9-0-1) were nearly perfect in Big 8 play, having only a tie against FLC in October keeping them from 10-0.  The Falcons finished second in the tough Big 8 at 5-3-2 and are seeded number 3 in NorCal for the CCCAA state playoffs, which will begin on Saturday November 23 with a home match at Falcon Stadium against #14 seed Feather River at 4:00 pm.
