Wildcats win a big game on the road, 4-3
Santa Maria, CA| The women's soccer team traveled to Santa Maria on Friday to face the Allan Hancock College Bulldogs, looking to create a 2-game win streak. Forward Shelsin Chavez scored in the 19th minute to tie the game at 1-1. Down 3-1 at halftime, the Wildcats opened the 2nd half with a goal by outside wing Deisy Adame in the 48th minute. Chavez earned her second goal of the game in the 62nd minute with a strong run down the center of the field, scoring against the defenseless keeper.

With the game tied, the Wildcats rallied to score the game-deciding goal in the 85th minute. With the ball on the West LA half, defensive midfielder Stephanie Escamilla split the Allan Hancock midfield with a pass to center midfielder Jaylene Navarro. Navarro found space to turn and dribble towards the goal, taking a shot from 20 yards out and catching the goalkeeper off her line.

The 4-3 victory was the first come from behind win for the Wildcats this preseason, as they improve to 2-5. With two games remaining to the start of conference play, the Women's soccer game will look to continue their winning ways.
