Mountie Football stays undefeated with decisive win over Allan Hancock

(Walnut, CA) Tied at 7 after one quarter, host Mt. San Antonio College (5-0) pulled away from Allan Hancock College (2-3) with 27 points in the second en route to a 48-7 non-conference victory on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Not only did the Mounties dominate the scoreboard, they dominated the stat sheet, too, amassing 638 yards of total offense (326 passing, 312 rushing) to the Bulldogs' 104.

Ike Udengwu III threw for 261 yards with four touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 67 yards on seven carries for Mt. SAC. Adrion Boyd was Udengwu's top target, gaining 86 yards on six receptions with one touchdown. Jaden N. Allen (68 yards, TD) and Cade Cadam (42 yards) each had four receptions on the day.

Mohamed Nyangamukenga led the Mounties in rushing with 79 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns, while teammate Isaiah Dickerson added 70 yards on eight carries.

Katin Surprenant led Mt. SAC's defense with five tackles, three of which were solo efforts. Mason White (three solo), Anthony Hebert (solo), Rykim Lemon (three solo), and Zefanaia Magalei (three solo, sack) each tallied three tackles for the hosts.

Ranked No. 3 in the most recent JC Athletic Bureau and California Community College Sports Information Association polls, the Mounties will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 15, at home against El Camino College (2-2) at 6 p.m. to open National Central Conference play.
