The Cosumnes River College (CRC) Hawks battled all game but were not able to emerge victorious in their matchup with American River College (ARC) on Tuesday in front of the home crowd. ARC jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the fifth inning, but the Hawks scored five unanswered runs to send it to extra innings. Unfortunately, ARC scored in the ninth inning to take the lead, 8- 7, and the Hawks were blanked in the ninth to end the game. Leandra Coronado (Elk Grove, CA/ Monterey Trail HS) and Kayley Rocha (Galt, CA/ Liberty Ranch HS) shined in the loss as they combined for seven hits in ten at bats. Mckinzie Spriggs (Galt, CA / Galt HS) provided a major spark for the offense with three RBI.

CRC will be looking to bounce back on Saturday as they will play in a doubleheader against Solano College and Cabrillo College at home. The Hawks will open against Solano at 10:00 AM and wrap-up the weekend versus Cabrillo at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 14th.
