KNIGHTS LOSE TO LASSEN 64-61 IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

SUSANVILLE, Calif. – Shasta College women's basketball team lost the final game of the regular season to Lassen College 64-61 on Wednesday.

The Knights dropped the final two games of the regular season after leading the Golden Valley Conference. Shasta outscored Lassen in each of the second, third and fourth quarters but the slow start saw Lassen jump out to a 25-12 lead after the opening period.

Sophomore Kayla Bonomini scored 19 points, sophomore Jordan Martinez scored 16 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished seven assists and Terra Crawford scored 12 points off the bench as the only reserved player to score for the Knights. Freshman Justyse Cooper scored five points but pulled down a team-high 12 boards.

The Knights shot 35 percent from the field compared to 60 percent for Lassen but made nine 3-pointers on the night, dropping to 5-3 on the year when they make at least nine 3s in a game.

Shasta wraps up the regular season 7-3 in GVC play and 14-11 overall.
