Women's Basketball Dominates Bakersfield Behind Jiron Double-Double

BAKERSFIELD - Wednesday night, the Women's Basketball team traveled to Bakersfield and dominated the Renegades, 64-33.

The domination began early when the Monarchs gave up just two points to Bakersfield in the first quarter!  Defensively the Monarchs gave up single digit scoring to Bakersfield in the first, second and third quarters.  Only in the fourth quarter did the Renegades finally break the 10 point ceiling.

Offensively, sophomore Jordyn Jiron had another standout game, posting a double-double scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Fellow sophomores Emilie Brugna and Leeno Vo also scored in double figures, scoring 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Women's Basketball returns home Saturday, January 28, when the Monarchs play College of the Canyons at 3:00 p.m.
