Cats still perfect in 2022

The Saddleback women's volleyball team is off to the best start in years after sweeping through the Chaffey College Quad Tournament on Friday in Rancho Cucamonga.  The Bobcats are 6-0 for the first time during the Brian Hughes era.

Saddleback recorded two more victories on Friday, beating San Diego City College (3-0) and host Chaffey College (3-1).  The Bobcats were dominant throughout and have lost just three sets during the first six matches of the season.

Saddleback opened with a 3-0 win over San Diego City, mowing down the Knights 25-15, 25-20 and 25-18.  Marina Maffioli led the Bobcats with seven kills while Lilyann Horner recorded five service aces.  Logan Daniels (lower left) did her normal thing, leading the team with 15 assists.

Match two was a bit tighter as Chaffey pushed the Bobcats to four sets. Saddleback prevailed 25-19- 25-21, 16-25, 25-17 behind a solid performance from Sydney Brown (upper left).  Brown finished with a match-high 18 kills to go along with 10 digs and five service aces. 

Saddleback will return to action next Friday when they host Copper Mountain College in the Saddleback Gymnasium.  Match time is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
