Two goals from Kendra Koerth set the Hawks up for a 2-1 home win against a battling Rustlers team. SCC had been on the road for the last month, and so it was a welcome return to campus for the home team.
Koerth opened the scoring midway through the first-half with a fierce drive from a tight angle, and then doubled the lead around the 60 minute mark from a free-kick. The Hawks dominated possession for long periods but the Rustlers kept Emily Diplock on her toes with a shot from distance forcing a fine save. As the clocked ticked down, the visitors were awarded a penalty, but SCC closed out the remainder of the contest relatively comfortably, to claim the win.
Up next, the Hawks travel to Cypress College for a 3pm kick-off on Tuesday, October 8th. Thanks to all those in attendance today.
