Balanced Attack Leads Mt. SAC Men's Soccer to SCC Win at Pasadena

(Pasadena, CA) Five goals from as many players gave Mt. SAC (10-0-1, 1-0) a 5-2 win over host Pasadena (5-5-1, 0-1) on Tuesday in both teams' opening South Coast Conference match of the season.

Jesus Garcia scored first for the Mounties at the 4:43 mark of the first half on an assist from Paul Iniguez. Teammates Angel Santoyo (unassisted), Jason Garcia (Omar Ollazabal assist), Herminio Padilla (unassisted), and Ivan Escobar (unassisted) accounted for the other Mt. SAC goals.

The Mountie defense held the Lancers to just three shots on goal. Goalkeeper John Samano had one save in 90 minutes for Mt. SAC.

The Mounties will put their unbeaten streak on the line as they host Long Beach (4-6-2, 1-0) on Friday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m.
