Chargers and Owls Tie

Chargers and Owls Tie

Cypress, CA (Men's Soccer) -- Coming off a 5-2 win over Chaffey College on Tuesday, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team kept their offense rolling on Friday scoring a pair of goals. The offense didn't result in a win however, but it didn't result in a loss either, as Citrus and Cypress tied 2-2.

The offense didn't happen right away for Citrus. Cypress would score the first goal of the game taking a 1-0 lead just before halftime in the 40th minute. In the second half though that all changed as freshman Pedro Felix slotted home his second goal of the season off an assist from sophomore Anier Valdez in the 55th minute to knot the game up at 1-1.

Citrus would take the lead roughly 5 minutes later when freshman Ryo Takmine parked his second goal of the season in the back of the net around the 60th minute. The assist would be courtesy of Felix his first of the year. The goal would give the Owls a 2-1 lead, but unfortunately it wouldn't last. Cypress would tie it back up 2-2 in the 65th minute, and the score stood for the remainder of the contest.

With the tie, Citrus' record moves to 1-2-1 on the year. The Owls will begin Western State Conference play with their next contest on Tuesday afternoon against LA Mission College. First touch is set for 3:00 PM at LA Pierce College where Mission is playing their 2012 season.
