Pasadena blanks Vaqueros 35-0 in season finale

Pasadena piled up 217 yards on the ground and three rushing TDs in a 35-0 win over SBCC in the season finale at Robinson Stadium in Pasadena.

The Lancers (6-4, 4-1) finished second in the American Pacific League. The Vaqueros (3-7, 2-3) tied for third.

Pasadena took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a 24-yard pass from Edward Norton to Jabari Kindle. The Lancers scored three rushing TDs in the second quarter to take a 28-0 halftime lead.

Salman Gurung had two of those TDs on runs of 1 and 10 yards. He led PCC with 61 yards on 11 carries and was one of nine ballcarries for the Lancers.

Pasadena got its final TD when Darren Meyers blocked a Ray Shay punt at the 9-yard line and it was recovered in the end zone by Shane Andrews with 4:50 to go in the third quarter.

Pasadena outran the Vaqueros 217 to 27 yards and won the total yardage battle, 325 to 142.

Nazir Hopson and Clarence Dodson Jr. led the Vaquero defense with 10 tackles each. Defensive end Jacob Shultz added nine tackles and 1.5 sacks. Shultz led the APL with 70 tackles and 8.5 sacks.

Patrick Dill Jr. made his third interception at the goal line early in the fourth quarter and returned it 29 yards.
