Reedley Softball Results For The Weekend.

With six games in five days, the Reedley College Tiger softball is getting ready for the start of Central Valley Conference action on Feb. 27.

Coach Kathy Kuball's Tigers play the last two games of a 10-game road trip this Thursday, as they travel to Fremont to face the 3-2 Ohlone College Renegades in a 12-noon doubleheader. Reedley finally returns home on Friday, Feb. 21 as they face College of the Canyons (2-2) at 10 a.m. and College of San Mateo (8-1) at 2 pm.

The busy week started on Feb. 4 as the Tigers faced a Cuesta team that had averaged 15.5 runs per game in four wins and held the Cougars to seven runs in two games. Reedley came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the first game of the doubleheader 9-4 as Ellie Montalvo drove in three runs and Bobbie Falcon scored three times. Winning pitcher Amanda Beltran had two RBI.

In the second game, Reedley won 4-3 in 10 innings. An Ashley Paz single scored Beltran with the deciding run.

On Friday, the Lady Tigers split a doubleheader in Pleasant Hill with Diablo Valley College, losing the first game 11-1 before coming back to win the nightcap 10-8 in nine innings. The Tigers came back from a 5-0 first-inning deficit, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning to take the lead before the Vikings tied it with a single run in the bottom of the inning. Falcon and Montalvo had singles in the ninth inning rally.

On Saturday, Reedley dropped a 9-2 decision at Santa Rosa and 9-1 to undefeated Monterey Peninsula College. The loss left Reedley with a 3-7 season record.

Every team in the Central Valley Conference goes into this week's action with an under .500 record. Fresno City goes into the week with the best record.
