The West Valley men's water polo team earned an opening day split at the Ohlone College Mini Friday. The Vikings dropped a hard-fought 13-10 game to Diablo Valley in the morning, and then held off San Joaquin Delta 17-15 in the afternoon. Ben Fleming scored four goals and Joel Nuñez had three against DVC. Fleming found the back of the net nine times against the Mustangs. The Vikings host the prestigious Nyquist Invitational Friday and Saturday (9/13-14).
