COD (6-3) Women's Tennis returned to the CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs for the first time since 2016, taking to the road as the #5 seed and upsetting the #4 seeded College of the Canyons Cougars of Santa Clarita (13-3), 6-3.

In doubles play, the team of freshman Shekinah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Antonella Mazzotti (Rancho Mirage H.S.) won easily, 8-2. The team of freshman Emunah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Agustina Berrondo (Tucumán (ARG) Institute Hermanas Esclavas) took down the #4 seeded Cougars, 8-2. College of the Canyons would win the third doubles match in a walkover.

In singles play, the Daffon Sisters (Shekinah & Emunah) dominiated in their singles victories against College of the Canyons, downing their Cougars opponents in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-1. Berrondo won in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-2 and Mazzotti effortlessly won in straight sets, 6-1 and 6-0. Freshman Kimberly Jimenez (Rancho Mirage H.S.) fell in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0 and the Cougars took the sixth singles match in a walkover.

The next match for College of the Desert Women's Tennis will be on the road where they will advance to the 2nd round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs, traveling to the #2 seeded Riverside City Tigers on April 12th at 2p.

College of the Desert defeated College of the Canyons, 6-3 in the 1st round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita.
