Citrus College put up a fight at San Bernardino Valley College but couldn't find the back of the net, dropping a 1-0 loss to the Wolverines.
The Owls slip to 1-1-0 on the season, while SBVC improves to 2-1-0 with the win.
Despite pouring on the offense and out-shooting the Wolverines 9-to-5 in the first half, it was SBVC that found the back of the net. The Wolverines scored just before halftime in the 44th minute and didn't let go to secure the victory.
The Owls had 12 shots in the game with Kaylee Sanchez and Havanna Garcia each taking three in the game. Defensively, Deziree Valdez came up with 10 saves, which ranks ninth all-time for most in a single game.
Citrus looks to bounce back at Grossmont on Friday, kicking off at 1:00 p.m. No spectators are allowed at the game.
