The Porterville College softball team came home with a split of its two non-conference games in Folsom on Friday. The Pirates closed their day with a 10-3 win over Shasta College after falling to host Folsom Lake College 10-1.

Freshman Ally Boyd had a huge game against Shasta, going 3 for 4 with a home run and 4 RBI. She also earned the win in the circle, allowing three runs and six hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Kuea Angilau went 3 for 4, scoring three runs while driving in one. Annisa Gomez had 2 RBI and a double while Veronica Bosquez and Julie Rocha both had two hits.

The Pirates opened their Friday with the loss to unbeaten Folsom Lake (8-0) in a game that lasted five innings. Porterville totaled just five hits and scored its lone run in the top of the third thanks to an RBI fielder's choice ground out by Gomez that drove in Bosquez.

Folsom Lake wanted no part of Angilau in the game as she walked three times. Jaicey Pate took the loss for the Pirates, going 4 2/3 innings while allowing 10 runs and 11 hits.

Porterville moved to 3-5 overall and returns to action on Tuesday (Feb. 11) when the Pirates travel to Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo for a non-conference doubleheader that starts at noon.
