Falcons' magical season comes to an end with CCCAA "State Runner-Up' trophy

The Folsom Lake Falcons' 2022 baseball season finally came to an end on Memorial Day - the final day of the CCCAA state championship tournament - when the Falcons' comeback rally fell just short in a 10-8 loss to Riverside in the championship game.  The Falcons had miraculously survived two elimination games on Sunday with walk-off victories over Palomar (11-10) and #1 ranked Ohlone (10-9) to advance to Monday's championship against Riverside, a rematch of Saturday's opening-round seesaw 11-9 Tiger victory.

The Falcons can hold their heads high with their runner-up finish; no Folsom Lake team in the 12-year history of FLC athletic competition had previously finished any higher than third.  The Falcons had a season for the ages, including their first Big 8 Conference title, two 16-game unbeaten streaks, no losing streak longer than one game, a 26-4 home record, and a final overall record of 40-8-1.

Congratulations to Coach Rich Gregory and his staff, and to the Student-Athletes who represented FLC with class, dignity, and honor.

Go Falcons!!
