(Mission Viejo, CA) Up 20-0 after one quarter, it looked as if Mt. SAC (3-0) was going to roll to a non-conference win at Saddleback (2-4) on Saturday, but the hosts had other plans before eventually losing, 36-34, in a game that was originally scheduled for Sept. 11.

The Bobcats cut the Mounties' lead to 20-12 before halftime, then to one, 20-19, with 4:07 left in the third quarter. A back-and-forth contest ensued from there with the score being tied at 27 at the 13:54 mark in the fourth, and with the home team taking the lead, 34-30, with 8:27 to go.

Mt. SAC responded with what proved to be the decisive score on a five-yard scoring pass from Alex Flores (28-of-43, 437 yards, five TDs, one interception) to Jordan Erby to put the visitors up for good, 36-34, with 5:19 left on the clock.

Keoua Kauni led the Mounties in rushing with 68 yards on 14 carries, while teammate Nicholas Floyd added 42 yards on 11 carries.

Flores' top targets were Reginald Anderson (seven catches, 163 yards, two TDs) and Erby (seven catches, 84 yards, TD). Shemar Savage (one catch, 57 yards), Joseph Bongono (two catches, 24 yards), and Dakota Warfield (one catch, 15 yards) each had a touchdown reception.

On defense, Tyrin Brooks led the Mounties with seven tackles, three of which were unassisted.

As a team, Mt. SAC amassed 565 yards of total offense, 437 through the air, while giving up 387 yards of total offense on defense.

The Mounties return to action on Saturday, Oct. 16, at El Camino (3-2) in a National Central Conference game that starts at 6 p.m.
