Men’s Tennis Rolls Palomar in Straight Set Sweep
The Riverside City College men's tennis team continued on its five-match road trip by facing off against the Palomar College Comets in non-conference play. Riverside made quick work of the Comets b completing a 9-0 sweep.
Each singles showdown was completed in two sets. Sophomore Gleb Mityurin continued to act as the top singles player and worked a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Freshman Aurelien Arlot earning a 6-0, 6-2 win as the number two player, while freshman Chris Lee followed with a 6-0, 6-1 win as the third positioned player.
Freshman tandem Andrew Hernandez and Marcelo Dominguez followed with 6-2, 6-0 wins at the five and six, respectively.
Arlot and Lee teamed up as the top doubles team for the first time this season and worked towards and 8-5 victory. Sophomore Ayrton Aviles and Mityurin were slotted as the number two and cruised to an 8-2 victory, while freshman Matthew Stark and Dominguez earned an 8-1 win.
Riverside (4-2) will face off against El Camino on the road at 2 p.m.
