W. Tennis Shuts Out Porterville to Earn First Win

The MSJC women's tennis team bounced back from an opening day loss on Saturday as they defeated visiting Porterville College 9-0.

The Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles as Therese Sherwood and Addysen Walls won the #1 match 8-2, at #2 doubles Izabella Gosiengfiao and Sophia Lopez shut out their opponents on their way to an 8-0 win.

MSJC continued to dominate in singles as they picked up five wins on the court and one by default.  Three of the Eagles' players won 6-0, 6-0, and all five won in straight sets.  Lindsay Lemus won 6-0, 6-3 at #1, Walls won her #2 match 6-0, 6-0, while at #3 it was Sherwood earning the 6-0. 6-0 victory.  Gosiengfiao and Lopez also picked up singles wins.

MSJC now 1-1 on the season return to action Friday when they travel to Antelope Valley for a noon match.
