Compton, Calif. – Sophomore Doug Allen went 1 for 2 batting one triple and driving in a single RBI on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the Rio Hondo series. Compton (3-17, 0-7 SCC) fell to Rio Hondo (11-9, 5-4 SCC) 5-2.

Sophomore Jose Romero went 4 for 4 batting a double and driving in a single RBI in the sixth inning.

Sophomore Jose Gutierrez-Silva was the starting pitcher for the Tartars. He only allowed one hit and one run in his two innings of work. Freshman Alberto Gonzalez came in as a relief pitcher striking out two batters and only allowing two hits.

The Tartars will play again on Monday March 9 for the Military Appreciation game against Mt. San Antonio with a 2 p.m. start time.
