Beavers defeat Falcon women, 8-1

The Falcons played American River on Friday afternoon in the first round of the Big 8 playoffs, but lost to the Beavers, 8-1.  The Falcons entered the match as the sixth seed facing the third seeded Beavers, but played at FLC due to court conditions at ARC.  Kelly Bruner, the Falcons'#2 singles player, claimed the only win for the Falcons with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.  With the loss, the Falcons will next face Shasta on Tuesday at FLC, with the winner advancing to play at Diablo Valley on Friday.
