Brown Leads Falcons in Sweep of Siskiyous

Fairfield, Calif. - Freshman outside hitter Sammy Brown chalked up a double-double to lead the Falcons in a sweep of Siskiyous on Friday afternoon.

Set scores were 25-13, 25-17, 25-10.

"I am happy with the win," Solano women's volleyball head coach Darla Williams said. "We have been pushing ourselves and working hard in practice to add to our win column. We passed really well today, which allowed us to get our middle hitters involved in the offense. Jeryn [Baldonado] did a great job running the court today as the lone setter. We will be in action next week."

Brown tallied 12 kills and 12 digs with freshman Dani Rydjord adding 10 kills and a block. Freshman Chris Rigney Cruz had a solid all-around effort with nine kills, five digs, and two blocks.

Defensively, sophomore Mylei Moli led the backcourt numbers with 10 digs, adding six kills. Sophomore Kailyn Kaiser was close behind with nine digs.

Freshman Jeryn Baldonado directed the offense with 34 assists with a pair of aces.

Solano (6-9) heads to Ohlone next on Wednesday, Sept. 22. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
