REDWOODS SWEEPS SHASTA IN ROAD DOUBLEHEADER

EUREKA, Calif. – The Shasta College softball team lost a road doubleheader to College of the Redwoods on Thursday, falling 11-0 in five innings in the first game and losing 6-2 in the nightcap.

The Knights put together three hits in the opener, one each from Autumn Giannini, Khloe Forrister and Ashley Rauch. Shasta drew six walks with Madisen Borek walking a team-best twice. Kaylie McDaniel took the loss, strikeout out three, walking none and allowing six earned runs on 11 hits in four innings. The Knights committed six errors in the game.

In Game 2, McDaniel took the loss again, fanning one batter and walking none while allowing five earned runs on 15 hits across six frames. Shasta spread out five hits in the game. Giannini was 1 for 4 with an RBI, Shelbe Cappello was 1 for 3 with a walk, Calley Rupert and Rauch were both 1 for 3 with a run and Forrister also had a hit.

The Knights (1-9) take a seven-game losing streak into Tuesday's home doubleheader against College of the Siskiyous.
