Gauchos pick up win over Falcons

The Saddleback women's tennis team picked up a win with a 6-3 victory over Cerritos College on Thursday in Cerritos.  The Gauchos swept through the doubles portion of the match in breezing past the Falcons.

Saddleback started the match up 3-0 after Cerritos was forced to forfeit three matches due to a lack of players.  The Gauchos made quick work of the team decision by winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to earn their third win of the season.

Kaitlyn Avilez and Siena Rosnagle managed an 8-4 win against Selene Bayardo and Moa Lindstrom to give Saddleback a 4-0 lead.  Bailey Donine and Sydney Page then ended the team match with an 8-4 win against Alba Gonzalez and Evelyn Rodriguez Toro to give the Gauchos a solid ending to the month of March.

Saddleback picked up its last win of the day in singles play when Alexa Berg won a shortened match when Cerritos' Selene Bayardo retired.  Berg was leading 6-4, 1-0 when the match was suspended.

Saddleback is now 3-10 overall after the win and with two matches remaining on the season.  The Gauchos will host Orange Coast College on Tuesday before traveling to Cypress College on Thursday.  Both matches are scheduled to start at 2:00 PM.
