Women’s Soccer: Shutout streak at four, Rio Hondo beats Fullerton 4-0

Rio Hondo College freshman goalkeeper Anaguisel Ramos made eight saves while sophomore Serina Vargas scored twice to help the lead Roadrunners to a convincing 4-0 victory against visiting Fullerton College on Friday in Whittier.

Anaguisel and the Rio Hondo defense played solid in posting its fourth consecutive shutout while the Roadrunners have outscored its opponents 8-1 over its first five games this season. Rio Hondo is still unbeaten at 3-0-2 overall.

Sophomores Janessa Gallardo and Vivian Viramontes also scored in the rout for the Roadrunners. Alice Hernandez had a pair of assists with Gallardo and Janelle Piraino also getting credit for assists.

Rio Hondo will look to keep its hot start going when the Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 17) to host Santa Monica College in a 6 p.m. non-conference game.
