Men's Basketball Crushes Visiting Santa Barbara

Bakersfield, CA – Behind their highest scoring offensive performance of the season, the Bakersfield College Men's Basketball team crushed the visiting Santa Barbara Vaqueros 106-52 in the game one of the 2020 Western State Classic on Friday (1/3) evening.   

The game was a back and forth battle through the first 10 minutes of the game. The Renegades then pulled away, incrementally increasing their lead until the break with a commanding 48-24 lead over the Vaqueros going into the half.

Throughout the second half the Renegades continued to pour on the offense and wound up with their most lop-sided victory of the season.

Freshman forward Javier Gallardo scored a season high 21 points with nine rebounds. Fellow freshman Isayas Aris added 15 points and six rebounds and sophomore Tyrell Coleman scored 14 while grabbing eight rebounds.

The team now improves to 11-2 on the season. They will play Oxnard tomorrow (1/4) at 3pm in their second and final game of the 2020 Western State Classic.
