Women's Soccer Closes Out Preseason this week.

The Reedley College women's soccer team has outscored the opposition 22-6 as its off to a 5-0-1 start in non-conference play.


The latest victory for head Coach Onesta Francis' squad came on Friday at Diablo Valley College, where the Tigers came out on top by a 7-1 score.


The Tigers returned home on Wednesday, Sept. 21 to host Lake Tahoe College in a 12-noon match in Reedley before opening Central Valley Conference action at Taft College on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 1 pm.


In the win over Diablo Valley, Reedley took a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute on a goal by Nazira Nunez. Ten minutes later, Diablo Valley tied the game before a goal by Jiselle Batres on an assist by Krysta Casas in the 21st minute put the Tigers ahead to stay. Casas scored in the 28th minute to make it 3-1.


Denise Elias-Martinez and Amber Becerra each scored two goals in the second half to round out the scoring.


Starting goalie Natalie Duran recorded three saves in 83 minutes of action while reserve Kashmir Baker had no stats in seven minutes of play.


On Tuesday, Sept. 13 in Reedley, the Tigers posted a 6-1 victory over Cuesta College. Casas led the Lady Tigers with two goals and three assists. Alexa Baez, Joeline Nuno, Mariela Cruz, and Nunez also had goals for Reedley while goalie Baker was credited with two saves.
