Porterville College freshman Trinity Ramirez posted a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds but a disastrous second half hurt the Pirates in a 63-43 Central Valley Conference loss at West Hills College Lemoore on Wednesday.

Porterville played well during the first half and trailed 32-26 at the break. But the Pirates managed to score just 17 points over the final two quarters which allowed West Hills to cruise to the victory.

Half of Ramirez' 12 rebounds came on the offensive end. Making the feat more impressive is the fact the guard stands 5-feet, 4-inches tall. It was her second double-digit rebounding game of the season while she has grabbed nine rebounds twice this year as well.

Breyanna Hernandez also scored 10 points and added 4 steals. Sisi Cruz chipped in with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals while Victoria Peyron and Ashley Campos both came off the bench to score 7 points.

The loss dropped PC to 2-16 overall and 0-2 in the CVC. The Pirates will look to snap an 11-game losing streak on Saturday (Jan. 18) when they travel to Fresno City College for a 3 p.m. conference game.
