Men’s Basketball: Roadrunners wrap up season with loss to No. 2 ELAC

Sophomore Bryant Howing scored 26 points in his final game as a Roadrunner in Rio Hondo College's 109-86 season-ending loss to visiting No. 2 state-ranked East Los Angeles College.

Rio Hondo wrapped up a difficult 2019-20 season with a 4-24 overall record. The Roadrunners went 1-7 in South Coast Conference North Division play to finished tied for fourth place in the final standings.

East Los Angeles got off to a quick 8-2 lead to open the contest and never trailed. Rio Hondo was down 44-30 at halftime and could only get within nine points in the second.

Howing came up two points short from tying a career-best. He shot 9 for 15 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers on his way to 26 points. Howing added 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 assists on his good all-around game.

Sophomores also playing in their final game in a Rio Hondo uniform, John Mims scored 12 points, while Kevin Sandoval and Aaron Patterson both had 11 points each. Freshman Lamin Williams put up 13 points to close out the year.
