Falcon women make it three wins in one week

Playing their third match in just five days, the FLC women's soccer team defeated Cabrillo 1-0 on Friday night in Aptos to complete a perfect week.  The soccer field at Cabrillo is known as a difficult place to play thanks to it's narrow width -due to the fact that it's also a football stadium - but the Falcons seemed to adjust as they dominated possession time and created multiple scoring chances through the game.  Despite having four corner kicks in each half, no shots found the net through the first 80 minutes of play.  But with ten minutes to play, freshman substitute Teyha Guiden received a pass from sophomore forward Annette Medina and crushed a low driven shot from 25 yards out into the side netting for what turned out to be the game's only goal.  Sophomore Grace Filliau and freshman Reese Clark split the goal goalkeeping duties again for the shared shutout victory.

With three wins last week, the Falcons imroved their record to 5-0-1. They'll face a tough opponent on Friday when Fresno City (1-1-2) plays at Falcon Stadium at 6:00 pm.
