Falcons top ARC

The Falcon women avenged an early-season loss to American River with an exciting 62-59 win over the Beavers on Tuesday night at Falcon Gym.  When these teams met in December, the Beavers, after leading by 12 at half, hung on for a 4-point win.  This time it was the Falcons that held off the Beavers in the final minute.  Shay Boley led the Falcons with 19 points, 10 assists, and 4 steals.  She got at least 4 of those assists in the fourth quarter, hitting a cutting Taylor Sexton for easy layups.  It was good thing they finally found their inside game, because the Falcons shot just 3-of-20 (15%) from beyond the three point line!  Dejanet Porter had 10 points and pushed the ball against the Beaver press, while Delaney Keddie had 9 rebounds and scored 8 points. 

The Falcons improved to 14-9 overall and are 5-4 in Big 8 play.  They'll return to action on the home court next Tuesday (Feb 4) against Diablo Valley (17-3, 7-1) at 7:30 pm.
