America Maples twirled a seven-strikeout, one-hit complete game to lead the West Valley softball team to a 10-0 mercy rule win over visiting College of the Redwoods Friday afternoon.

Maples took a perfect game into the fourth, but Amy Reyes reached on a bunt single to break it up. Maples gave up a walk to Karyn Jensen two batters later, but was unhittable in every other frame.

The Vikings sent ten batters to the plate in a six-run third that was highlighted by a Molina RBI single, a Hannah Hillman RBI one-bagger, a two-run single from Sierra Hillman and another RBI single from Chavez.

Sierra Hillman finished the afternoon 2-4 with three RBI, while Chavez went 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Molina was 2-2 with two RBI, and Cayla Williams was 2-2.
