COD (6-3-3) wrapped up non-Conference play by collecting a clean sheet and knocking in two second half goals to take the win at the Moorpark Raiders (5-5-1), 2-0.

While the contest would go the first 45 minutes without a score, Desert would get onto the scoreboard in the 65th minute when sophomore defender Ezequiel Minero (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) found freshman forward Jorge Quintero (Thermal Coachella Valley) for his 12th goal of the season. Quintero's 12 goals are second best in the entire state.

In the 72nd minute, Quintero and sophomore forward Leyver Guzman (Cathedral City H.S.) connected with sophomore midfielder Ramon Felix (Thermal Coachella Valley) for his 5th goal of the season, giving the Roadrunners a 2-0 advantage.

Freshman goal keeper Sebastian Ascencio (La Quinta H.S.) grabbed his first clean sheet of the season, making three saves in the win.

The Roadrunners played the Moorpark Raiders for the first time in program history in 2003 and are now 2-2 all-time against Moorpark. Desert has a 2-1 record against the Raiders in Moorpark.
