(Walnut, CA) Following an 8-6 loss to El Camino College (8-6, 2-1) on Thursday, host Mt. SAC (10-4, 1-2) scored early, then held on to defeat the Warriors, 4-0, in a South Coast Conference game on Friday, Feb. 21.

Dylan Zavala performed well at the plate for the Mounties, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a triple, and two runs scored. Cole Jordan also had a triple, scored a run, and went 1-for3. Nick Lugo (1-4) had a double in the winning effort.

Diego Barrera (3-1) pitched a complete game, while striking out eight, to get the win.

Mt. SAC will hit the road to start a three-game SCC series with Pasadena City College (7-7, 1-1) on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 2 p.m., then will return home for the second game on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. The concluding game of the series will take place at Pasadena on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 12 p.m.
