Women's Soccer Struggles Against Mesa

MSJC's #11 Ariana Serrato scored the Eagles only goal on Tuesday as the women's soccer team dropped a match to San Diego Mesa 7-1.

The MSJC women's soccer team fell behind 5-0 at the half, and could not recover as they fell to visiting San Diego Mesa 7-1.

Mesa got off to a fast start scoring twice in the game's first 20 minutes as they pushed their way to the 5-0 lead at the half.  The Eagles settled in to make the second 45 minutes more competitive as Ariana Serrato scored MSJC's lone goal in the 72nd minute.  Six different Olympians scored goals on the afternoon with Violet Renard cashing in twice.  Lauren Reynolds and Alex Basoukas shared time in goal for MSJC with Reynolds playing the first 20 minutes and Basoukas playing the final 70.

The Eagles are now 1-3-1 on the season and return to action Friday when they travel to San Marcos to take on Palomar College.  MSJC will be back at home on Tuesday October 1st when they open play in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference against San Bernardio Valley.  The match on October 1st in Menifee will kick-off at 4 pm.
