Volleyball Sweeps Glendale at Home

Bakersfield, CA- After two loses on the road, it seems the Bakersfield College Volleyball team needed to get a win to get their confidence back. The Renegade not only got the home win but swept the visiting Glendale College Vaqueros, (3-0).

Outside hitter Alexandria Johnson jumped right out the gate with four aces to start the Gades out in the first set. GC was able to grab a few points with a few errors from Bakersfield but overall BC dominated and took the first set, 25-12.

This time it would be teammate Monet Panther starting out with three aces in the second set to get the second set going. Sophomore Tori Robertson was heating up on the kills as she had four before the Vaqueros would call a timeout. Bakersfield ran through the second set, 25-10.

In the third set Glendale managed to keep the Renegades on their toes only trailing by two points at the beginning of the set. Bakersfield got up to 8 points allowing Glendale to stay close and then once again ran away with the set, 25-14.

Sharing the lead in kills tonight was sophomor Tia Jules and freshman outside hitter, Alexandria Johnson with 9 kills. Johnson also had 10 aces while freshman Kya Jones finished the night with 9 digs.

With the win, the Renegades will play again at home again on Friday, October 7th vs Antelope Valley.
