Bobcats still perfect

Bobcats still perfect

The Saddleback women's soccer team improved to 5-0 on the season with a 2-0 win at Chaffey College on Tuesday in Rancho Cucamonga.  The Bobcats have now outscored opponents 28-0 for the year.

Saddleback entered the game at No. 7 in the state and No. 3 in Southern California in power points.  The Bobcats lived up to the hype on Tuesday with a solid win on the road at Chaffey.

Saddleback opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Maliyah Medley scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season off a pass from Kylie Beu.  For Medley, she has now scored in four of the five games played this season.

Saddleback added an insurance goal in the 80th minute when Nadia Amin (pictured) took a pass from Averee Campos and slipped it past the keeper for a 2-0 lead.  It was Amin's third goal of the season and gave the Bobcats plenty of breathing room given the play of the defense.

Olivia Wynn started and played all 90 minutes in goal, recording her fifth straight win.  Wynn recorded five saves on the day.

Saddleback has now started the season with five straight shutouts, which is a program record.  It also marks the first time that Saddleback has started the season 5-0.

Saddleback will now have over a week off before playing at San Diego Mesa College next Friday (9/24).  Game time in San Diego next Friday is set for 7:00 PM.
