Glendale, CA - The Citrus College Men's Basketball team took care of business on Wednesday evening at Glendale College. Against a scrappy Vaquero squad, the Owls held their own and maintained their spot on top of the WSC South standings at the halfway point with a 77-53 win.

The Owls would start the game out on a 9-2 run, getting a triple from sophomore Toby Okwuokie to start the Citrus scoring and bookended by a pair of free-throws from the aforementioned sophomore. Glendale would keep things close for most of the first half, even regaining the lead after their opening score 23-21 with 5:33 left in the first. After a full timeout, the Owls finally got back on track closing out the half on a 9-0 run that saw freshman Johnny Knox knock down a trey in the closing seconds to put Citrus up 30-21.

In the second half it was all Citrus, as the Vaqueros never got closer than eight. The Owls would lead by as much as 24 points, after a Kendall Frey three-ball, with the lead hovering in the 20-point range for the remainder of the contest. In the win, the Owls were paced by sophomore Tyree Winborn's team high 18 points off the bench. Okwuokie added 16, while Knox had nine. Sophomore Tobin Kund would match freshman Leonard Turner with a game high eight boards a piece. Turner also threw in a pair of blocks, a pair of steals, and a pair of assists for good measure.

With the win, Citrus improves to 14-7 overall and 6-1 in WSC South play. The Owls will start the second half of WSC South competition on Saturday when it travels to a dangerous LA Valley College team that has won three straight and seven of their last ten. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM in Valley Glen.
