The Cosumnes River College Hawks lost to the Sacramento City College Panthers in a single game today, 3-2 in walk-off fashion. Pitching and defense dominated the contest. The Panthers struck first leading 1-0 until the fourth inning when the Hawks tied the game up. The Hawks added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning to make the game 2-1. Unfortunately in the bottom half of the seventh the Panthers Elisa Cueva hit a two-run homerun to win the game. 

Sydney Giovannoni (Tokay HS/Stockton, CA) was the offensive highlight for the Hawks going 2-for-3 and scoring a run in the game. Becky Pedersen (Ukiah HS/Ukiah, CA) took the loss for the Hawks today despite going 6.2 innings with one strikeout and walking zero batters.

The Hawks will be back in action Friday at Folsom Lake College for a double header.
