The West Valley women's soccer team gave up a pair of first-half goals and then staged a spirited second-half rally before falling 2-1 to City College of San Francisco Tuesday in Saratoga. The Vikings (6-8-1, 3-3-0 Coast-South) surrendered relatively easy scores to Ram forward Natalia Gomez in the 10th and 25th minutes. Sara Prough redirected a ricochet at 54', her team-leading fifth goal of the season, to close the gap to 2-1, but a defense-first CCSF side (9-5-2, 4-0-2 Coast-North) ran out the clock for the win. WVC has a bye Friday and then heads to Ohlone Oct. 29 for a 1:30pm game against the Renegades (3-11-0, 1-5-0 Coast-North).
